Lyon Park Primary School have had a great day celebrating World Book Day 2019!

The children took part in various fun and creative reading and writing opportunities to promote a love of books and of reading. Children read with peers from different classes, they were given an opportunity to share and read various books.

We also invited parents and carers to join their child for a breakfast reading morning.

Here is what some of our parents had to say:

• “I really enjoyed listening to my grandson read.”
• “I think It was really good to have the chance to read with my child this morning It was a lovely experience.”
• “I enjoyed it. I definitely would love to do it again sometime soon. My child really wanted me to come in and I am glad I did.”
• “I enjoyed sitting with my daughter and taking part in listening to her read. It was also nice to see so many other parents and children were involved. It was a lovely experience and it would be good to do this again.”

Everybody enjoyed this celebration of reading and let's hope that we are ALL inspired to read even more!
