Year 4 Diversity Workshop October 2019
The Year 4 children undertook a Diversity Workshop where they listened to and discussed the similarities as well as differences between themselves and others.
The children were able to discuss the issues with maturity and great understanding of how everyone has a right to be treated equally regardless of their skin colour, language, nationality, culture, religion or gender.
There were some very good messages given to the children during the workshop and we hope this works towards supporting the children in developing positive attitudes around diversity, something which is perhaps more important in our society today than ever before.
Comments from some of our Year 4 children:
"I enjoyed every single second of it because we got to learn new things about different countries like music and dance."
"Respect others."
"We covered all aspects of diversity with Pete. I liked trying on different clothes from different countries. It made me think and appreciate different cultures."
"It’s okay to be different."
